Delhi University invites online applications for 56 Professor and Associate Professor posts; selection will be based on academic performance, not NET score.
New Delhi, Sept 2025: Aspiring academicians have a golden opportunity to join one of India’s premier universities. Delhi University (DU) has announced faculty recruitment for 56 positions of Professor and Associate Professor across multiple departments.
The online application process will open on October 7, 2025, and candidates can submit their applications until October 21, 2025, through the official DU website — www.du.ac.in.
No NET Required — Selection Based on Academic Performance
Unlike most teaching recruitments, NET qualification is not mandatory for these posts. Instead, DU will shortlist candidates based on their academic performance, teaching and research experience, and publications.

Vacancy Details
- Department of Management Studies: 12 Associate Professors, 12 Professors
- Department of Physics & Astrophysics: 8 Associate Professors, 7 Professors
- Department of Social Work: 4 Associate Professors, 2 Professors
Total: 35 Associate Professor posts and 21 Professor posts = 56 faculty positions.
Eligibility Criteria
For Associate Professor:
- PhD in relevant discipline.
- At least 55% marks in Master’s degree.
- Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience with a good academic record.
For Professor:
- PhD in relevant subject.
- At least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience as Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor.
Salary Structure
- Associate Professor: Academic Pay Level 13A
- Professor: Academic Pay Level 14
The salary package will also include government allowances as per UGC norms.
